Charoli/ Chironji Benefits for Health, Hair and Skin

Charoli belongs to the same family as cashew nuts, but the small, brown Chironji seeds are more akin to almonds in taste. The botanical name of Charoli is Buchanania lanzan, but you may also know it by another name – chironji. The charoli tree grows throughout India; it is a deciduous tree that can grow up to 15 meters in height.

Each Chironji seed is present in the fruit, with one seed per fruit. Charoli seeds, oil and extracts are often used as an alternative to almonds in Indian deserts and sweet treats. In traditional Indian medicine, Chironji finds a pride of place due to its nutritional and medicinal properties. The fruit, seed, roots, leaves, and resin are used to treat an array of health conditions and ailments.
